Mother’s Day



Professionals Toastmasters Club held its meeting on 10th May, 2015, at Avari Towers. The time of assembly was 3:30 pm and total 8 people attended the meeting. The theme of the meeting was ‘Mother’s Day.’

The meeting was called to order by TM Shahrukh and the meeting was chaired by the president, TM Zafar. Toastmaster of the Evening was TM Rashid, Table Topics Master was TM Parveen, General Evaluator was TM Rafi and Table Topics Evaluator was TM Karan.


Roles were performed by TM Shahrukh as the Ah-Counter and as the Timer, while TM Hanif performed the role of Word Master and Grammarian. Word of the day was, ‘Frabjous.’

In the Prepared Speeches session, first speech was presented by TM Hanif. It was a special speech based on the book, 'the Alchemist' by Paulo Coelho. He was evaluated by TM Zafar. The title of his speech was, ‘journey.’

Second speech was presented by TM Karan. He presented project 3 from the Competent Communicator manual. The title of his speech was, ‘civilisations.’ He was evaluated by TM Parveen.

With the help of TM Zafar, Professionals Toastmasters Club also organised a dinner on Friday night, 8th May, 2015, to honour the Past President, TM Hanif, and to celebrate his recent promotion. Members from other Toastmaster clubs as well as past members also joined us on this auspicious occasion.

Paradigm shift and Leadership


Professionals Toastmasters Club held its meeting on May 3rd, 2015. Total 8 people attended the meeting. The venue of the meeting was Avari Towers and time of assembly was 3:30 pm.

Sergeant at Arms, TM Shahrukh, called the meeting to order and Club President, TM Zafar, chaired the entire session. Toastmaster of the Evening was TM Hanif, Table Topics Master was TM Zulfiqar, General Evaluator was TM Parveen and Table Topics Evaluator was TM Rafi.

The theme of the Table Topics was Paradigm shift and Leadership.

Roles were performed by TM Rashid as the timer, TM Shahrukh as the Ah-Counter and TM Hanif as the Grammarian and Word Master. Word of the day was, ‘Aver.’


In prepared speeches session, TM Rashid presented Project 3 from the Competent Communicator Manual. The title of his speech was, ‘International Workers’ Day.’

Lifetime Achievement Award from USC Alumni


Professional Toastmasters Club hosted the, ‘Lifetime Achievement Award from USC Alumni’ on 17th April, 2015.

The recipients of the lifetime achievement award were Mr. H. N. Akhtar, Ex-Federal secretary Communications and Chairman Pakistan Steel Mills; and Chaudhry Muhammad Yaqoob, Ex-I.G. of Balochistan.  

Master of the ceremony was TM Hanif and citations were read by TM Zafar and TM Parveen.
It is the first time that USC Alumni has organised such a programmed in Pakistan.  


Speech Craft: Discovering Human Excellence

Professionals Toastmasters Club conducted Speech Craft Programme at Haroon Zakaria & Company-Chartered Accountants. The title of the programme was, ‘Discovering Human Excellence.’


 

The first Session was conducted on 7th February, 2015. TM Parveen was the Coordinator who welcomed all the participants and introduced Toastmasters International, Professional Toastmasters Club and the Speech Craft Programme. Speech Craft manuals were distributed among all the participants. TM Shahrukh introduced The Table Topics session, TM Zafat conducted the educational presentation on selecting a speech topic and TM Rafi evaluated the entire session as the General Evaluator. The Coordinator discussed the agenda for the next session and adjourned the session.

    

The second session was conducted on 14th February, 2015. TM Parveen, as the Coordinator welcomed everyone and TM Shahrukh conducted Table Topics session. TM Zafar presented Educational presentation on introducing a speaker. The participants presented “Ice Breaker” speeches as per the Speech Craft manuals. TM Rafi, as the General Evaluator evaluated the Ice Breaker speeches as well as the entire session. Announcement was made and session was adjourned by the Coordinator, TM Parveen.


The third Session was conducted on 21st February, 2015. The Coordinator, TM Parveen, welcomed the participants and TM Shahrukh conducted the Table Topics session. “Be in Earnest” speeches were presented by the participants and educational presentation was given by TM Zafar on speech organization. General Evaluation and speech evaluation was conducted by TM Rafi as the General Evaluator and meeting was adjourned by TM Parveen.


The fourth and last session was conducted on 28th February, 2015. Participants were welcomed by TM Parveen as the Coordinator and TM Shahrukh conducted Table Topics session. TM Hanif was the guest speaker and TM Zafar presented educational presentation on vocal variety. “Organise Your Speech” speeches were presented by the participants. Certificates were presented to the participants and TM Rafi evaluated the entire session, including the prepared speeches as the General Evaluator. TM Parveen presented the vote of thanks and concluded the session and the entire programme.

 

Happy Birthday Shakespeare

Professionals Toastmasters Club held its weekly meeting on 26th April, 2015. Total seven people attended the meeting. The theme of the meeting was, ‘Happy Birthday Shakespeare.’


The meeting was called to order by Sergeant-at-arms, TM Shahrukh, and entire meeting was chaired by club President, TM Zafar. Toastmaster of the Evening was TM Parveen, Table Topics Master was TM Shahrukh, General Evaluator was TM Rafi and Table Topics Evaluator was TM Zafar.

Roles were performed by TM Hanif as the timer and TM Rafi as the Word Master and the Grammarian. Word of the day was ‘Paradigm.’

Three speeches were presented in the prepared speeches session. First speech was presented by TM Hanif. He repeated project 2 from the Competent Communicator Manual. The tile of his speech was ‘Good Governance’ and he was evaluated by TM Rafi.

Second speech was delivered by TM Shahrukh. He also repeated project 2 from the Competent Communicator manual. The title of his speech was, ‘Golden Rules,’ and he was evaluated by TM Zafar.


Last speech was delivered by TM Parveen. She repeated project 6 from the Competent Communicator manual. The title of her speech was, ‘Panic’ and she evaluated by TM Hanif.

Love & Prevaricate

Professional Toastmaster Club held its meeting on 12th April, 2015. The theme of the meeting was love.

TM Parveen called the meeting to order and TM Zafar chaired the entire session. Toastmaster of the evening was TM Karan, Table Topics Master was Rashid, General Evaluator was TM Hanif and Table Topics Evaluator was TM Rafi.

Roles were performed by TM Noman as the Ah-Counter and Timer. TM Rashid was the Grammarian and Word Master. Word of the day was, 'Prevaricate.'

Two speeches were delivered in Prepared Speeches session. First Speech was delivered by TM Parveen. She repeated Project 4 from the Competent Communicator manual.

TM Zafar presented a review of book, 'Alchemist.' The title of his speech was, 'Dreams Come True.' He was evaluated by TM Hanif.


Evacuate

Professional Toastmasters Club held its meeting on March 29th, 2015. The venue of the meeting was Avari Towers and the time of assembly was 3:30 pm.

Meeting was called to order by TM Parveen. Toastmaster of the Meeting was TM Parveen, Table Topics Master was TM Karan Singh, General Evaluator and Table Topics Evaluator was TM Rafi.

TM Noman performed the roles of Timer as well as of Word Master.

Word of the day was, 'Evacuate.'
