point by point



Professionals Toastmasters Club held its meeting on May 26th, 2013. The venue for our meeting was Carlton Hotel. Total 13 people attended the meeting. 


The oath was observed by TM Shahrukh and the Presiding Officer was TM Rafi. Toastmaster of the Evening was TM Zafar Iqbal, Table topics Master was TM Rehan and General Evaluator was TM Parveen. Table Topics Evaluator was TM Hanif who rightly said that a point should be through a point, but, point by point. The theme of the meeting was “Values”.


Roles were performed by TM Neel as the Ah-Counter, TM Hanif as the Word-Master (Alacrity was the word of the day), TM Fazal was the grammarian and TM Motiwala was the Timer.

Two speeches were presented. First speech was performed by TM Motiwala who presented his second project from the Competent Communicator manual. He was evaluated by TM Zafar. The title of his speech was “Seven Features”.

The second speech was presented by TM Fazal. He repeated the tenth project from the Competent Communicator manual and was evaluated by TM Rafi. The title of his speech was “Change.”

Hope



Professionals Toastmasters Club – 01371378 organised its meeting on May 5th, 2013. Total seven members attended the meeting. The theme of the meeting was ‘Hope.’ 


Oath was observed by TM Shahrukh who also introduced the articles of the week:

The Presiding Officer of the Meeting was TM Fahim. Toastmaster of the Meeting was TM Shahrukh, Table Topics Master was TM Hanif and General Evaluator was TM Mujeeb. Table Topics Evaluator was TM Fahim.

Roles were perfprmed by TM Hanif as the Ah-Counter, TM Hammad as the Word-Master (Word of the Day was ‘Communication’) as well as the Timer, and TM Rehan was the Grammarian.

Following are the topics assigned to the speakers during the Table Topics Session:
a) TM Rehan: What type of leadership would you prefer? 
b) TM Mujeeb: For how long we will be listening to the same promises?
c) TM Fahim: Why can’t we live together?
d) TM Hammad: Say something good about Pakistan?
e) TM Shahrukh: Can you see a sunny day after the darkness?
f) TM Danial: Why we don’t have community service in an organised manner? 
g ) TM Hanif: Time Management?



Prepared Speech was delivered by TM Rehan. He presented his First Project, ‘Ice Breaker’, from the Competent Communicator manual. His Speech Evaluator was TM Hanif.

Moore's Law and Aquabumps

The Professional Toastmasters Club held its meeting on 28th April at Carlton Hotel. Due to ongoing law and order situation, only five members were able to attend the meeting. However, few were able to maintain the energy and zest, thus, made the meeting a success.




The oath was observed by TM Shahrukh and TM Hanif presided over the meeting. TM Panjwani was the Toastmaster of the Evening, while TM Shahrukh was the Table Topics Master and the General Evaluator. TM Hanif was the Table Topics Evaluator.



Roles were performed by TM Anwar as the Ah-Counter, TM Hanif as the Word-Master (word of the day was Audacious), TM Shahrukh as the Grammarian and TM Motiwala as the Timer.
                                            
In the Table Topics Session, two rounds were held. Following topics were assigned to the speakers in the first round:

a) TM Motiwala: How to start a conversation with a girl.

b) TM Anwar: How to convince your parents to allow you to keep a pet.

c) TM Panjwani: Life beyond sugary drinks.

d) TM Hanif: Is exercising the secret to a long and healthy life.

                                                    

Following topics were assigned to the speakers in the second round:

a) TM Motiwal (driver of the red car) and TM Anwar (driver of the blue car): What happened next after the blue car hits the red car.

b) TM Hanif: Your mode of expressing yourself.

c) TM Panjwani: What is the first thing a husband should do in order to pacify an angry wife.



In the Prepared Speeches session, TM Anwar presented his second project from the Competent Communicator manual. The title of his speech was, “A dying profession.” His speech was evaluated by TM Hanif. During his speech he shared with us Moore's Law and Aquabumps.

Earth Day


The combined meeting of Professional Toastmasters Club and Clifton Toastmasters Club was held on 21st April, 2013. Total 13 people attended the meeting.
                                                


Oath was observed by TM Shahrukh and the Presiding officer was TM Hanif who shared the information regarding the Earth Day which is annually celebrated on 22nd April. Toastmaster of the Meeting was TM Fazal who shared the story of a seagull. The theme of the meeting was “Change.” Table Topics Master was TM Panjwani. General Evaluator was TM Parveen. TM Hanif was the Table Topics Evaluator.



Our fellow Toastmaster, TM Iqbal Saeed paid a visit to a Toastmaster club in Guangzhou. We wish him all the best!

Two speeches were delivered during the prepared speeches session. TM Mansoor presented his second project from the Competent Communicator manual and he was evaluated by TM Hanif. The title of his speech was Change. The second speech was the Ice Breaker delivered by TM Anwar and he was evaluated by TM Liaquat.



Educational presentation was delivered by TM Shahrukh from the “Successful Club Series.“ The title of the presentation was ”KEEPING THE Commitment.”



Winner of the Table Topics session was TM Mansoor while TM Anwar was the winner of the Prepared Speeches session.

Weekly Meeting Review


        The joint meeting of the Professional Toastmasters Club and the Clifton Toastmasters Club was held on 14th April, 2013. Total 9 people attended the meeting. The theme of the meeting was the “Leadership.”

        The oath was observed by TM Shahrukh and then the lectern was handed over to the Presiding officer, TM Fazal. The Toastmaster of the Meeting was TM Panjwani. Table Topic Master was TM Rafi. The roles of the General Evaluator and was performed by TM Shahrukh, who was also the Table Topics Master.

        Roles were performed by TM Hammad as the Word-Master (Word of the day was 'Recieved'), TM Roshan as the Ah-Counter, TM Parveen as the Timer, TM Shahrukh as the Grammarian and the Vote-Counter.
        
         In the Table Topics Session, following topics were assigned to the speakers:

a)       TM Roshan Zamir: The most beautiful city.
b)       TM Panjwani: Ingredients for a good mode of communication.
c)       TM Shahrukh: Non political presentation on the power of vote.
d)       TM Hammad: Where you see yourself in 10 years.
e)       TM Parveen: Results are pouring in.
f)        Anwar (guest): Importance of Games in Character building.
g)       Rizwan (guest): Indoor Games.
h)       TM Fazal: Mind sharpening games.

        In the Prepared Speeches session, two speeches were delivered. TM Fazal presented Project 10 from the Competent Communication manual. The title of the speech was “you can’t predict your future.” It was evaluated by TM Shahrukh.

        The second speech was presented by TM Parveen from the manual, Humorously Speaking, from the Advanced Communication Series. She presented her first project and was evaluated by TM Rafi.

        TM Fazal was declared winner of the Prepared Speeches session as well as the Table Topics session. TM Shahrukh was second in the Table Topics Session while TM Parveen came second in the Prepared Speeches session.

Communication Skills

The combined meeting of Professional Toastmasters Club and Clifton Toastmasters Club was held on April 7th, 2013. The venue of the meeting was the Carlton Hotel. Total 14 people attended the meeting out which three were guests.




Oath was observed by TM Shahrukh and the meeting was presided over by the President of the Professional Toastmasters, TM Adnan. TM Mujeeb was the Toastmaster of the Evening, TM Liaquat was the Table Topics Master and TM Zafar was the General Evaluator.



Roles were performed by TM Shahrukh as the Word Master (Word of the day was Albeit); TM Adnan as the Ah-Counter; TM Panjwani as the Timer; TM Perveen as the Grammarian and TM Adnan as the Vote Counter.



The theme of the Table Topics was the “Problems of Pakistan”:



a) TM Haider—How to control the economic situation.

b) TM Zafar—How to improve the condition of the labour.

c) TM Shahrukh—How to improve the Parliament legislation.

d) Roshan Zameer (guest)—Independence of Judiciary.

e) Ashraf (guest)—Heavy debt of Pakistan.

f) TM Adnan Motiwala—How to overcome the law and order situation.

g) TM Adnan—Issue of Governance.

h) TM Parveen—How to improve the education system of Pakistan.

i) TM Panjwani—Eradication of Corruption in Pakistan.

j) Rizwan (guest)—How to stop the devaluation of the Pakistani Rupee.

k) TM Fazal—What measures to be taken for the growth of the Agriculture Sector.

l) TM Mujeeb—Population Explosion




Two prepared speeches were delivered in the second session. The first speech was delivered by TM Hammad who was evaluated by TM Shahrukh. He repeated his Ice Breaker form the Competent Communicator manual. TM Panjewani delivered his project 6 from the Competent Communicator manual and he was evaluated by TM Fazal. The title of his speech was “Communication Skills.”




The winner of the Table Topics session was TM Rafi. And winner of the Prepared Speech session was TM Hammad.

Because we live for the first time!

One of the members rightly said during his speech that, “We do everything in life for the first time. It can even be your first speech. Because we also live for the first time!”
             
The combined meeting of Professional Toastmasters Club and Clifton Toastmasters Club was held on 31st March, 2013. Total 10 people attended the meeting, out of which one was a guest.

The oath was observed by TM Shahrukh and the meeting was presided over by TM Zafar. The Toastmaster of the Evening was TM Mansoor and TM Sattar was the Table Topics Master. In the Evaluation session, TM Khalid was the General Evaluator and TM Shahrukh was the Table Topics Evaluator.

The Roles were performed by Amir (guest) as the Ah-Counter; TM Hammad as the Word-Master (Word of the day was Information); TM Shahrukh as the Timer and TM Zafar as the Grammarian.

The theme for the Table Topics was "Education." Following speakers were assigned the topics:

a)    TM Khalid: Why our institutions are not safe?
b)    TM Zafar: Women Education: liberal and conservative views.[he shared with us the example of the great Meera Bai.]
c)    TM Mujeeb: Medium of our education is still undecided.
d)    TM Hammad: Teacher's Behaviour.
e)    TM Mansoor: Choice between Cambridge and Metric system
f)    TM Shahrukh: Role of a Degree
g)    Amir (guest): What will you do differently if you are asked again to repeat your 8th grade.
h)    TM Aqeel: What will you do with one million dollars.

Two Prepared speeches were delivered. TM Zafar presented his first project, the Ice Breaker,  from the Competent Communicator manual. He was evaluated by TM Sattar. TM Adnan Motiwala also presented his Ice Breaker and he was evaluated by TM Mujeeb.
