I HAVE A DREAM



Professional Toastmasters Club held its second meeting after Eid on August 25th, 2013. The total attendance was 13. Sergeant-at-Arms was TM Shahrukh and Presiding Officer was TM Hanif. Toastmaster of the Evening was TM Parveen, Table Topics Master was TM Liaquat, General Evaluator was TM Aqeel and Table Topics Evaluator was TM Motiwala. The theme of the meeting was “Flood.”




Roles were performed by TM Haris as the Ah-Counter and the Timer, Guest Munnawar as the Grammarian, TM Shahrukh as the Vote Counter and TM Hanif as the Word Master. The word of the day was “Reverberate.”

Following speakers were ask to speak during the Table Topics Session:
a)    TM Hanif: To make good use of the water which is being wasted.
b)    TM Fazal: Why Floods are reoccurring after every two years?
c)    TM Haris: What are the proper flood preventing measures?
d)    TM Aqeel: How much damage has been caused by the flood so far?
e)    TM Shahrukh: Benefits of flood.
f)    TM Motiwala: Role of NGOs and government to help the victims.
g)    (Guest)Munnawar: Importance of river in the economy of Pakistan.
h)    TM Parween: Importance of water in human life.
i)    (Guest) Arslan: Unitiy of the nation in face of a clamity.
j)    (Guest) Muzzamil: Water Conservation
k)    (Guest) M. Salah: Importance of Media Warning.



Two prepared speeches were delivered during the Prepared Speeches Session. First speech was delivered by TM Fazal. He presented the 10th project from the Competent Communicator Manual. He was evaluated by TM Shahrukh. The occasion was the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech, “I have a dream.”






Second speech was delivered by TM Hanif. He presented his 4th project, ‘readout loud’, from the advance manual, ‘Specialty Speeches.” He was evaluated by TM Liaquat. The title of his speech was, “a very dangerous mystery.”

The winners of the Table Topics Session were TM Shahrukh and TM Motiwala. TM Fazal and TM Hanif were the winners of the Prepared Speeches session.
