A Threat!

We had a wonderful meeting on 20th January, 2011. We had a smooth sailing without any disturbance or any other kind of unpleasant event. In absence of our president, TM Iqbal Bakshi provided his services as the Presiding officer of the meeting. As our club coach, TM Farid had worked on the defined goals to improve the quality of our club meetings. The meeting started after the Toastmasters pledge was administered by TM Izhar. TM Umer was threatened by TM Dr. Avan for not being regular but we hope to see him in our future meetings.


Toastmaster of the evening was TM Dr. Avan who conducted the entire show irrespective of the fact she had a terrible neck ache. Table Topic Master of TM Shahrukh and General Evaluator was TM Farid.

The roles were conducted by TM Izhar as the timer, TM Shahrukh as the Grammarian and the vote-counter, TM Farid was the word-master and proposed three words (Grift, Snafu and R&R) and TM Junaid was the Ah-Counter (along with TM Farid).

Two prepared speeches were delivered by TM Iqbal Bakshi and TM Panjwani. TM Bakshi was evaluated by TM Sajjad while TM Pajwani was evaluated by TM Maneck. Table topics were evaluated by TM Iqbal Bakshi.

TM Farid was the declared as the best Table-Topics speaker. TM Pajwani was the best Prepared-Speaker. TM Dr. Avan had wan the award for Big-3. The award for using the word(s) of the most of the time went to TM Junaid. Certificates for the most distinguish guests were awarded to our two guests and our potential future member. Our next meeting will be on 27th February at Hotel Beach Luxury.

There was no stopping it.

The club meeting of Professional Toastmasters was held on January 13, 2011 at Hotal Beach Luxury. The presiding officer of the meeting was TM Fahim (Club President). TM Izhar observed the Toastmasters Pledge as the acting ‘Sergeant at Arms’. We were also blessed by the presence of two guests and our potential future members. Once the meeting took off there was no stopping it.

Big-3 were responsible for running the show included TM Haris as the ‘Toastmaster of the Evening’, TM Farid as the ‘Table Topic Master’ and TM Sajjad was the ‘General Evaluator’.

Table Topics were really amazing and challenging. TM Sajjad was asked to express his thoughts on the issue of his son holding a birthday party at his house and TM Junaid shared with us the story of a practical joke he once did.

Two prepared speeches were delivered. TM Shahrukh was evaluated by TM Farid and TM Panjwani was valuated by TM Izhar.

During the evaluation session, TM Sajjad (General Evaluator) explained and discouraged the members to speak upon controversial topics like religion, sex and politics.

The members of our club exercised their voting rights and declared winners were TM Fahim for the best Table Topic Speech, TM Pajwani for the best Prepared Speech, TM Farid for the best Evaluator, TM Haris for the Big-3 and TM Fahim for using the word of the day in his speech.

First congregation of this year.

We had an exceptional meeting on 6th January, 2011. The venue for our meeting was Beach Luxury Hotel. This was our first meeting of this year. Professional Toastmasters will congratulate TM Maneck and TM Dr. Avan on their engagement. The club wishes them good luck and hope to see them progress in every field of life.

Our club discussed and voted against the new venue under our presiding officer TM Fahim. The reasons for the members to vote against were very simple. The room was too small for all our members to attend, the lectern was to small for the speaker to move while speaking and many members were not comfortable with the parking.

The person responsible to lead the show (Toastmaster of the Evening) was TM Maneck. Table Topic Master was TM Junaid who made us realised through his topics the importance and significance of mobile phones. General Evaluator of the meeting was Hanif Sattar.

The attendance was good as our first meeting of the year was attended by twelve members.

Prepared speeches were delivered by TM Shahrukh and TM Panjwani. Both speeches were organized, well prepared & delivered in fascinating way. They were evaluated by TM Farid and TM Fahim, respectively.

TM Farid has taken the responsibility of coaching the club and has outlined ten objects for our club to achieve. The beginning was from our prize ceremony which included more than just winners of the speeches (TM Panjwani) and table topics (TM Dr. Avan). This time, we had winners from the big three (TM Maneck), best evaluator (TM Farid) and the winner of the todays word (TM Sajjad).

The meeting was wonderful and we are schedule to meet on 11th January, 2011. the forst meeting of this year was insightful and we with a great start, we are hoping to have a wonderful year ahead.

Farewell 2010

Our meeting was held on 30th December at Beach Luxury Hotel. Meeting was full of surprises and ended on a good note.

Our toast master of the evening was TM Farid who lead the entire show and along the way, explained to us the common mistakes made by the speaker while speaking in front of an audience. Table Topic Master was TM Sajjad and his topics were really entertainting and challenging. He asked us to speak on our new years resolutions wchich were already decided by him in advance. TM Avan was to reduce 40 pounds, TM Maneck was not to exercise, TM Shahrukh was to start smoking as a hobby, TM Harris was to read less books and TM Junaid decided to watch more T.V.

Table Topics evaluator was TM Junaid who restrained from commentin on TM Dr. Avan’s topic. General Evaluator was TM Haris who was rightly critical about not starting at time.

Prepared speeches were delivered by TM Farid and TM Shahrukh. TM Farid delivered his speech from the story telling manual and was evaluated by TM Dr. Avan. TM Shahrukh delivered his speech from the advance manual and demonstrated how to cook Bibimbap and was evaluated by TM Sajjad.

The winner of the Table Topics was TM Maneck and for prepared speeches was TM Shahrukh. This meeting was our last for this year and we are expected to meet on 6th January, 2010.
