child labour



Professional Toastmasters Club held its meeting on 27th October, 2013, at Carlton Hotel. The time of the assembly was 3:30 pm. Total eight members attended the meeting. 

 

Meeting was called by the Sergeant-at-Arms, TM Shahrukh, and the lectern was handed over to the Presiding Officer, TM Hanif. TM Hanif commenced the meeting by sharing the story of Iqbal Mashi, a child who sold (US) $12/- and became the symbol of abusive child labour in the developing world.

Toastmaster of the Evening was TM Parveen, Table Topics Master was TM Haris, General Evaluator was TM Panjwani and Table Topics Master was TM Fazal. The interesting aspect of the meeting was that the minimum time for the Table Topics was three minutes and maximum time was 5 minutes.


Roles were performed by TM Shahrukh as the Ah-Counter, TM Hanif as the Timer, TM Vaid as the Grammarian, and TM Rafi as the Word Master (word of the day: Peroration).


In the Prepared Speeches session, TM Panjwani repeated his 5th Project from the Competent Communicator Manual. The title of his speech was ‘Get Real.’ His evaluator was TM Rafi. The best line said by him was, ‘Character + Competence = Credibility & Trust.’

Shirk



Professional Toastmasters Club held its meeting on October 13th, 2013. Sergeant-at-Arms, TM Shahrukh, called the meeting and the lectern was handed over to the Presiding Officer, TM Hanif. Total eight people attended the meeting. 

Toastmaster of the Day was TM Zulfiqar, Table Topics Master was TM Panjwani, TM Rafi was General Evaluator and TM Nazir was the Table Topics Evaluator.

Roles were performed by TM Shahrukh as the Ah-counter and the Timer, TM Zafar as the Grammarian and TM Hanif as the Word Master. The word of the day was, ‘Shirk.’

Two prepared speeches were delivered in the Prepared Speeches Session. First one was delivered by TM Shahkar. His evaluator was TM Hanif. He presented his Ice Breaker from the Competent Communicator manual.

The second speech was delivered by TM Panjwani and his evaluator was TM Zafar. He repeated his project 4 from the Competent Communicator Manual. The title of his speech was, ‘how to communicate?’

Winner of the Table Topics Session was TM Zafar and TM Zulfiqar was the runner-up. Winner of the Prepared Speeches Session was TM Panjwani and TM Shahkar was the runner-up.

Dint

Professional Toastmasters Club held its meeting on October 6th, 2013. The venue for the meeting was the Carlton hotel and the time of assembly was 3:30 pm. Total eleven people attended the meeting.
 

Sergeant-at-Arms, TM Shahrukh, called the meeting in order and handed over the charge to the Presiding Officer, TM Hanif. Toastmaster of the Day was TM Fazal, Table Topics Master was TM Parveen, , General Evaluator was TM Fahim and Table Topics Evaluator was TM Shahrukh. TM Fazal rightly said while introducing the programme that Toastmaster of the Day is the head, General Evaluator is the Heart while Table Topics Evaluator is the soul of the entire meeting.
 

Roles were performed by TM Shahrukh as the Ah-Counter and Vote Counter, TM Hanif as the Word Master (word of the day was Dint), TM Zafar as the Grammarian and TM Muneef as the Timer.

Three prepared speeches were delivered in the Prepared Speeches session. First speech was delivered by TM Zafar who presented his project 8 from the Competent Communicator manual and was evaluated by TM Hanif. The title of his speech was, ‘Tools for Development.’
 
 

Second speech was delivered by TM Panjwani who repeated his project 2 from the Competent Communicator manual. The title of his speech was, ‘Listening Effectively.’

The last speech of the meeting was presented by TM Zulfiqar who also presented his project 2 from the Competent Communicator manual. The title of his speech was, ‘Paradox.’ He was evaluated by TM Fahim.

The winner of the Table Topics session was TM Zafar while TM Zulfiqar was the runner-up. In Prepared Speeches session, TM Panjwani was the winner and TM Zafar was the runner-up.

My Mentor



Professional Toastmasters Club held its meeting on 29th September, 2013, at Carlton Hotel. The time of assembly for the meeting was 3:30 pm. Total 11 people attended the meeting. 


Sergeant-at-Arms, TM Haris, called the meeting and the charge was handed over to the presiding officer, TM Parveen. Toastmaster of the Day was TM Zafar, Table Topics Master was TM Fazal, General Evaluator was TM Shahrukh and Table Topics Evaluator was TM Parveen.

 

Roles were performed by TM Shahrukh as the Ah-Counter, TM Haris as the Timer and TM Ashraf as the Word Master (Word of the day is Paradigm) as well as Grammarian.

 

In the prepared speeches session, TM Shahrukh repeated his second project from the manual and he was evaluated by TM Haris. The title of his speech was, ‘My Mentor.’
