Be a bundle of laughs.

Our club meeting on 25th November, 2010 was a blast. Acouple of laughs and a couple of good performances by our members were all more than one can ask for. Toastmaster of the Evening was TM Sajjad. The theme was 'Say no to Arms' and the colour if the day was 'green.' Table Topics Master was TM Fahim, Table Topics Evaluator was TM Sameer and General Evaluator was TM Shahrukh. Helpers were TM Farid as an Ah-counter, Vote counter and the Timer. TM Mehmood was the Word-master and TM Haris was the Grammarian.

We started off with rejoicing the victory of Pakistn hockey tem in Asian games. Toastmaster of the evening explained the concept of 'the balance of power' and conducted the meeting skillfully. Table Topics Master introduced Malcolm Gladwell to us and prepared many interesting topics like a world where we were aging backwards, where there was no boss and no responsibilities. The topics were inspired by the book 'the Big Shot' and overall theme was the 'Fools Paradise.'



Prepared speeches were delivered by TM Dr. Avan and TM Shahrukh. TM Dr. Avan presented her fourth project from the story telling manual while TM Shahrukh presented his fifth and final project form the Interpersonal communication manual. TM Shahrukh conducted a successful role play with the help of TM Farid who played the role of Moulvi (Muslim Priest) with a great ease. TM Sameer presented a presentation on how to run a successful club.



The winner of the Table Topics and Prepared Speeches was TM Dr. Avan, while TM Sameer was awarded tzhe best Evaluator. The award of the Big-Three was shared between the contestants.

Go over with a Bang!


The target was to get at least fifteen people to attend the meeting but we manage to gather ten. Even though we couldn't manage to meet the target but this was a preety big gathering seen after a longtime. The meeting was held at the Beach Luxury hotel on 11th November,2010.

Three guests honoured us with their presence. Mr. Muntazir Ali, Mr. Gibran Ashrad and Mr. Saad Shah attended the meeting and have promised to become the regular members of our club.

Major roles included Toastmaster of the Day (TM Shahrukh), Table Topic Master (TM Sajjad), General Evaluator (TM Iqbal Bakshi) and Table Topic Evaluator (TM Fahim).


Roles were played by all the members and guests present at the meeting. Timer was TM Iqbal Bakshi, Vote Counter was TM Fahim, Grammarian was Mr. Muntazir, Word Master was Mr. Gibran Ashraf (word of the day was Liberty) and AH Counter was TM Junaid.

Table Topics were very interesting as all of us had to imagine the professions which were assigned to us by the Table Topic Master. They ranged from being the personal assistant to the President to the cell phone snatcher. Prepared Speeches were to be delivered by TM Hanif Sattar and TM Shahrukh from the Advances manual. Unfortunately, as soon as we were about to enjoy our second speech, we heard a blast. There was a bomb blast nearby and so we had to adjourn our meeting.
But we are hopeful and determined to continue our congregation and will meet after Eid!

Character Fair 2010

Inter and intra school speech competition was organised by the Star Links school on 11th November, 2010. The venue for the contest was Star Links school's boys section. The program organised by Star Link School, Mid-City Toastmasters and Professional Toastmasters. Participating Schools included the City School, the Generation and the Star Links school.
Administration included Miss Amina Murad and Miss Ayesha Khatib with many others from the school. Judges of the program were Iqbal Saeed from Mid-City Toastmasters,Fahim-us-Zaman from Professional Toastmasters and Mr. Wali Zahid. Toastmaster Iqbal Bakshi was the Chief Guest and was escorted by Toastmaster Shahrukh.
Theme of the program was "Character Fair." Topics for the speeches were"Education without character can produce graduates but not good human beings" and "Media has become the way of living." Participants were supposed to speak in favour and in against the givin topics. Speeches were delivered in Fnglish as well as in Urdu.
The program was a success and it gave students a chance to present their public speaking skills. Outstanding performance, excellent research material, clear understanding of the topic and tackling the most controversial subjects with ease, showed the hard work of both, the students and the teachers.
Participants were Muhammad Tahir, M. Arbaz Khan, Mufaddal Borhany, Muneeb Shere, Hamza Khattak, Musra Naeem, Yahya Yousuf, Abdul Moeed, Osama Siddiqui, Ibraheem Shakeel, Furqan-udin, Ismaeel Shariq, Mohammad Amin, Ammar Hasan and Umwer Farooq.

Professional Toastmasters was honoured to be the part pf such a great event and promises to support the school and their cause all the way.

Always go for the Gold


Our club is facing many crises but still our meeting on 4th November, 2010 was a success. Only four members were present but each one played multiple roles. The first session of the program was an informal, round table discussion among the members on the security situation of our city. After refreshments, meeting officially commenced with the pledge of the Toastmasters.

The Big Three of our meeting were: TM Shahrukh as the Toastmasters of the Evening, TM Fahim as the Table Topic Master, TM Sajjad as the General Evaluator and Table Topic Evaluator was TM Sattar.
Multiple roles were performed by each member. TM Sajjad was the Vote Counter and the Timer, TM Fahim was the AH Counter and the Grammarian and TM Shahrukh was the Word Master of the day.
Inetead of the prepared speeches session, we had a round table discussion before the meeting and afterwards, there were two rounds of the Table Topic Session. Word of the day was Peril.
The theme of the meeting was 'Always go for the Gold' and we recalled the story of Mary Lou Retteon and her perfect 10 score. Sign of the day was Yellow Ribbon to symbolise hope and colours were Yellow, Orange and Gold. Table Topics were on the subject of 'Habits' and was a real test for our speaking skills.
TM Fahim was the winner with his winning line:
"Pakistan was created out of hope and not out of hate."

Professional Toastmaters Club meeting on Thursday, October 28th, 2010.

Our meeting was a success. The attendance was short so eash present member had to perform multiple roles. The effective participation and dedicated attitude played an important role in our meeting's success.
Members responsible for conducting the meeting and sessions were TM Mehmood as the Toastmaster of the Meeting/Evening, TM Shahrukh as the Table Topic Master, TM Fahim as the General Evaluator and the Table Topic Evaluator was TM Haris.





Theme of the meeting was our civic sense and the word of the day was grift.
Multiple roles were played by the members. TM Haris as the Timer and the Vote Counter, TM Shahrukh as the the Word Master and the AH Counter, and TM Fahim was the Grammarian.
The prepared speeches were delivered by TM Sajjad and TM Fahim. Both presented the first project of the same advance manual: The Entertaining Speaker. TM Sajjad was evaluated by TM Fahim and TM Shahrukh evaluated TM Farid.
Winner of the Table Topic Session was TM Farid and for Prepared Speeches, TM Sajjad took the gold.
TM Haris and TM Shahrukh were presented with certificates for participating in the workshop on 'Enhancing Communication Skills'. It was held on July 7, 2010 and organised by the 'Institute of Clinical Psychology', in collaboration with the 'Professional Toastmasters Club'.
