Humorous Speech Contest

On May 12th, 2011, Professional Toastmasters Club organised a humorous speech contest. The venue was Beach Luxury hotel and time was 6:00 p.m.

The Contest Master was TM Fahim and Toastmasters pledge was observed by TM Izhar. Contest Judges included TM Iqbal Saeed, TM Raffiuddin Hayder, TM Iqbal Bakshi and TM Zia PAracha. TM Nazir Vaid was the Chief Judge. TM Mehmood performed the role of Timer.

Speakers were informed of the ground rules and it included time limit of five to seven minutes, considering the content, speech development, effectiveness, delivery style, body language etc.

There was a funny sketch presented by TM Dr.Avan and TM Maneckji after the first speaker of the contest.

Following is the list of names of speakers and their speech titles:

a) TM Hera: Why do I lie? I am running out of reasons!

b) TM Adnan: Fear of wife.

c) TM Sajjad: Life sentence.

d) TM Suleman: make life fun

e) TM Shahrukh: the value of x and the love of y.

f) TM Khalid: Toastmaster Experience.

g) TM Shabeer: Should we act on consultant advices.

h) TM Fazal: Life is a box of chocolates.

Winner of the contest was TM Sajjad. TM Fazal was the first Runner-up and TM Khalid was the second Runner-up. The guests who attended the contest shred their opinion and presented an idea of holding such contests on regular bases.
